I love Lush shampoo bars and this one is a favorite! Seanik is made with

ingredients from the sea: softening Irish moss seaweed and Japanese nori seaweed make hair soft. I love the rich fragrance combo of jasmine, lemon and orange oils. #sweetfarm

Seanick is my go-to shampoo bar. I always recommend Seanick to customers who have fine,

oily hair. Those with straight, fine hair tend to have oiler hair as the sebum is able to travel down the hair strand easily (unless it is damaged or bleached) whereas curly or coily hair tends to be drier as it’s harder and takes longer for the sebum to travel down the hair strand. If you find that your hair becomes greasy quickly and you wash your hair regularly to combat excess oils, Seanick is worth a try.

It contains sea salt which as well as being antimicrobial and a brilliant cleanser, it is an astringent which makes it ideal for absorbing excess oils and sebum. Seanick also contains lemon, another great cleanser but also good for adding shine as citrus ingredients like lemon encourage the hair follicles to lie flat so they reflect more light.

I think shampoo bars are such an underrated product and some of the best products that Lush makes. There is a shampoo bar for more or less every hair need, they’re effective, long-lasting and plastic-packaging free. If you’re interested in plastic-free living and/or are looking to reduce the amount of plastic you consume, I’d highly recommend trying a Lush shampoo bar.

Although they look small in comparison to a shampoo bottle, they are highly concentrated as they’re not diluted by water like a liquid shampoo. So they actually last longer than a regular bottled shampoo. A Lush shampoo bar lasts around 60-90 washes, depending on the length, thickness of your hair, how generously you apply it and how regularly you shampoo your hair.

They’re also super simple to use. I think sometimes people get thrown by the fact that they’re a solid shampoo bar but it’s really easy. Similarly to how you’d use a bar of soap, simply rub the shampoo bar between your hands with water, I like to rotate mine between my palms, and the shampoo bar will lather instantly. I’d recommend doing this away from the direct spray of the shower itself so that you’re not wasting any lather or product so just hold your hands out away from the running water whilst you do so. Then glide the shampoo bar directly to your scalp, running it across your head and through the lengths and ends of your hair like a comb. Again, I’d do this away from the shower slightly so you’re not wasting any product. Once you’ve applied the shampoo bar a couple of times, pop it to one side and gently massage the formula in with your fingers. This is where the magic happens. The shampoo will build into a really thick, bubbly lather. The amount of lather helps to determine how much product you have on your hair so if you need a bit more, grab your shampoo bar again. But make sure you thoroughly work in the shampoo that you already have on your hair and build up the lather first before adding more shampoo. I think first timers tend to be overly generous with their shampoo bars because you don’t see the amount of product you’re using in the same way you see liquid shampoo squeezed out of a bottle. Bear in mind that a little really does go a long way! Then once you’re done, simply rinse out and apply conditioner if you use it.

Seanick has a subtle, sea breezy fragrance if any. Not overpowering or intense. Would make it suitable for those who prefer mildly scented products or who aren’t too keen on intense, distinctive fragrances like the New shampoo bar for instance.

In terms of storage, I pop mine into an empty tub of Lush Dream Cream along with my conditioner bar. A soap dish, a flannel or small Tupperware box will do. It just needs to be kept somewhere it can dry off and away from water like on a shelf or window ledge. Unlike a shampoo bottle that you might leave underneath the shower, I wouldn’t leave your shampoo bar uncovered beside the shower as any running water will make the bar go to waste. If you don’t have anything to store your shampoo bar in, Lush sell shampoo tins and cork porks for storage but if you can, reuse what you already have.

All Lush’s shampoo bars except for Honey I Washed My Hair are vegan.

This shampoo is supposed to make the hair thicker which I slowly started noticing, but

nothing extraordinary (maybe there is no hope for my hair?). While this is great, I find it expensive (11€ in Essen). I would not buy it again, as there are many alternatives in DM or just buying from local smaller and more natural Croatian companies.

I love this shampoo bar. It makes my hair feel clean without drying it out.

I love the smell - natural and clean. Although it’s a little pricey l, one bar lasts me 9 months to a year, so it’s worth it. I also love Lush’s packaging (or lack thereof), especially compared to traditional shampoo bottles.
