It was $10.99, which is not as much of a deal as many other products sold at the store. But I had a craving for plant-based/vegan bacon, so I bought it. I’ve tried other products from Hapoy Veggie World and this one is just as impressive. The people behind this company really know how to make plant-based alternatives. This plant based bacon reminds me of another brand whose name escapes me. But it’s really good and not greasy. It also reminds me of chicken or turkey bacon which I preferred over pork bacon in my pre-vegan days. In my opinion, the taste difference, if any, is negligible compared to chicken or turkey bacon. I really don’t think there is a difference. I’m assuming the nutritional facts are probably a little better. Although high in sodium, it’s also very high in iron with a decent amount of fibre and protein. At least I know this bacon didn’t scream! These bacon strips are cooked within a couple minutes in a pan. I usually make a simple BLT sandwich (today I substituted spinach for the lettuce) - see the last photo) or have it accompany Just Egg (that’ll probably be tomorrow’s breakfast). I would definitely get this plant-based bacon again, preferably at a better price.
