My wife turned me into an yerba mate lover! I admit the first time I

tried the traditional yerba mate, I wasnt crazy about it.
We have tried so many flavors of yerba mate now, for fun and #forthedollar . I've had it so much, I started to enjoy it! 🤪
The traditional is my wife's favorite, but my favorite is the tropical flavored fizzy yerba mate!
Totally natural and a healthy way to get to get caffeine! Quite a clean and energizing beverage

this post is more of a warning than a review, but i feel it's important

to get the word out...
yerba mate may seem like a miracle drink that turns you into a bright and happy energetic ball of sunshine, and it is... as long as you do NOT drink it often. these canned yerbas should be limited to one in a day, and probably less than 4 per week- and not drank for any more than a few weeks in a row. i know, sounds like a lot of rules. but I'm pretty sure that drinking yerba mate is what caused the stomach ulcer that i have been dealing with the symptoms of for ALL OF 2023 so far. i also unfortunately turned a coworker on to drinking these before i was having ulcer symptoms, and she wound up in the emergency room overnight with an ovarian cyst that ruptured after drinking mate consistently for only a few weeks. the packaging of mate products won't say what possible health issues may arise from drinking, of course, and the internet mentions possibility of link to mouth/throat cancers, but not too much else. of course the obscene amount of sugar in the canned drinks could very well contribute to the ulcer situation I'm under, but i feel it should be mentioned that i would limit my sugary foods while drinking these- and before drinking mate i use to eat *crazy* amounts of sugary food and never got ulcer symptoms. i loved drinking guayaki yerba mate drinks and depended on them to get me through work, they really could take me from grumpy, tired and slow moving to the equivalent of someone who's on cocaine... but that was short lived. i had to go 4+ months unable to eat chocolate because of my ulcer. i could not drink any caffeinated drinks for 5+ months and still need to be very careful. when stomach ulcers show serious symptoms it is truly miserable. i got pretty depressed for a while because i couldn't eat anything at all without getting sick and i was always in pain but had limited options for pain relief. my friend whose internal cyst ruptured said that her pain was unbearable, the worst pain she's ever felt. she thinks the yerba mate drinking caused it and i wish i wasn't so naive as to recommend the drinks to her. please be careful with yerba mate you guys, as i mentioned there really aren't good warnings out there about this plant/drink.
