Organic Ground Flaxseed

Reviews by abillion’s vegan community

I put a tablespoon of Organic Great Value Ground Flax Seed in my oatmeal every morning, as recommended by Dr. Michael Greger’s Daily Dozen. It really doesn’t taste like much at all. It barely has a very mild seedy flavor, but that’s it. It just disappears into pretty much whatever dish you’re making. You can also use it as an egg replacer. Mix one tablespoon of ground flax seed with 3 tablespoons of water and wait like 10 minutes and voilà, flax egg! I’ve made everything from vegan cranberry bread to vegan burgers using flax eggs. Flax seeds are one of the richest sources of omega-3 fatty acids. They are also high in lignins which aid in everything from fighting cancer to reducing inflammation. You might want to start adding this into your daily diet. To maximize absorption, make sure to get GROUND flax seed. The package shows a nice blueberry smoothie and how to make it with the flax seed. All the ingredients in the recipe are healthy except for the semi-coagulated breast milk (aka yogurt). So you could definitely make the recipe with vegan yogurt if you wanted to. The package also shows how much omega-3s you’re getting in each serving. My mom purchased this 16 oz bag for $3.48 at Walmart. Walmart also has a 32 oz package for $6.64. So you’d get a better bang for your buck buying the bigger one. Overall, great product. Hope they switch from plastic packaging to a more eco-friendly material soon. It would ease my conscious a bit. #flaxseed #flaxegg #flax #organic #walmart #greatvalue #smoothie #bakedgoods #veganegg #nochickenperiod #eggfree #dailydozen #omega3 #lignans #drgreger #anticancer #veganfortheanimals #healthy #healthylifestyle #vegan #veganisnotscary #govegan
