Trader Joe’s brand of Medjool Dates were exceptionally fresh - very pleased with quality. I have been experimenting with substituting dates for sugar. I made pumpkin muffins with only dates (no brown sugar). Muffins turned out dense and not quite as sweet - but I consider the experiment a success.
