Mock Duck Meat

I absolutely LOVED this!!!! Absolutely delicious seitan mock duck. I cooked it from frozen in the pan (will probably defrost it first next time haha) and seasoned it with a bit of salt and pepper before drowning it in thick teriyaki sauce and it was amazing. It got a crispy ‘skin’ and the inside is super meaty and fatty - which I personally love. Can’t wait to cook with it again #mockmeat #veganmeat #veganduck

I don't think I've found a good way to use this #mockduck ☹️ So far I've thrown it "as is" into my bak kut teh, but even that awesome product (reviewed some time ago) couldn't inject life into it. I then tried marinading it with lemon, maple "bacon" seasoning, and herbed salt, but that was another mini-disaster. I shall keep experimenting 😐 Still worth it to be #veganin2020!

Incredibly delicious, tastes so much like duck, very fatty! I've only been able to find it a tiny Asian grocery store in Marrickville but I go out of my way to get it! They have so many great meat alternatives there!
