I love mixing up a variety of nuts when I make baklava. The different textures and flavors really make it something special! I always use walnuts, almonds, and especially pistachios - this time I also added some pecans. I also really like sprinkling ground, raw pistachios on top because they add a lovely bright green pop of color. I don’t mind using roasted pistachios in the filling, as I did here, but I skip them for the topping because they lose that vibrant color and turn into a not-so-nice brownish green. #greekvegan #baklava #dessert #vegandessert
