Score! I love finding splurge yogurts like Culina’s at #groceryoutletfinds prices — this was just $0.99/cup! Now that the mornings have become decidedly chilly, I feel less inclined to enjoy #yogurt for breakfast, but I always have time for Culina. This particular flavor/batch, though, was not my favorite. Ordinarily, I love a rich, full-fat yogurt — the thicker, the better — however this was the first instance in recent memory where I felt the decadence could have been dialed back a smidgen. It wasn’t so much yogurt as solid #coconut cream (to the point where it was almost waxy.) Any #vanilla flavor was mild and immediately got lost in the intense onslaught of young coconut. I did like that it wasn’t too sweet, though. I tried to eat this on its own at first but ended up mixing it into a big batch of overnight oats in an effort to tone down the heaviness. I’ve enjoyed other Culina yogurts in the past (highly recommend the Mango Orange Blossom flavor!) and I don’t recall it being anything like this. I also have a few berry-flavored cups in the fridge which I have yet to try. Though it’s well within its best-by range, I’m hoping that this was just an off batch. I feel like this brand has also been switching up their packaging lately, so perhaps they’re trying to get a few things worked out still.

Amazing! After much experimentation, I have found only two vegan yoghurts I truly like — Kite Hill’s, and Oui’s. This is number three! When I picked this I wondered if the bourbon vanilla flavor would make it too sweet. But not at all — the packaging speaks of a “clean” yoghurt and it tastes like that. (Also, little did I know that bourbon vanilla actually just means vanilla from Madagascar). The flavor is delicate — same with the coconut, of which the yoghurt is made. So far I’ve found every coconut-based yoghurt too overbearing in terms of coconut flavor, but not this one. The texture is thick, but not as dense as Greek yoghurt. I just love that it has only six ingredients, all of which are things a regular person would know. :) If this yoghurt weren’t so super high in saturated fats (saw that after gobbling it up), I’d be buying it by the pallet. Truly very enjoyable.
