Mature Cheddar Style Block

I enjoyed this hard cheese texture and it's good melted too. It tastes very delicious a good cheddar cheese flavour and I loved the presentation. It can be eaten in sarnies or as cheese on toast or for anything where you add cheese to a lunch salad or in a dish. I'd buy it again

-> The greatest thing about this vegan cheese is how it melts. The color changes and has enough water content to melt and bind other ingredients together; -> The flavor is pretty strong as this is a mature cheddar style but it lacks a bit the defining umami of mature cheeses; -> The weak points *according to my personal taste* are that (1) the cheese block is difficult to handle - ie. to cut properly - sticky and brittle at the same time, it acts a bit like a low quality young parmigiano (2) like most cheese mimicking products the nutritional profile is hardcore - mostly solidified / hydrogenated vegetable oils, but is good they have a potato and oat component so not as bad as others (3) I’m consuming this in Singapore and this product requires cold chain shipment all the way from Scotland which impacts obviously the price and the sustainability of it .. Conclusion: fine in moderation and promising if their R&D can further improve it

Slices and grates easily. Delicious sharp cheddar taste. I would buy the slices over the block because of convenience but it’s still my favourite brand of cheese! #abillionlove
