Chickpea & Quinoa Salad

I thought this was a very nicely balanced salad. I liked the crunchy chickpeas. Great sized portion. 👌

We arrived at Boschendal expecting to find the weekend food market in full force ... alas, it was not. Since the Deli restaurant was full, we opted to grab a bite at the Deli shop. All the vegan pies were sold out (sad.. but happy, too.. YAY for high demand for vegan food 🥳) so hubby and I shared this Chickpea & Quinoa salad. Pleasantly surprised by how tasty and filling it was, although the accompanying tub of salad dressing was not nearly big enough. We also enjoyed lovely ginger beer, iced tea, and coffees afterwards. Downside would be that the staff looked at me totally blankly when I asked which items were vegan, and then starting listing vegetarian items (with dairy cheese). I almost bought a veggie wrap as it appeared to be vegan, but it was ice cold and already felt soggy, and apparently they had no way to heat it 🤷🏻‍♀️ Besides that... definitely recommend Boschendal as a kid-friendly, dog-friendly, and (fairly) vegan-friendly spot 💚🌳⛰
