I discovered these barbecue-marinated tempeh slices by Boemboe at The Plant Powered Show on Saturday and was inspired by the company’s mission. Not only are they focused on the gut-health-boosting benefits of tempeh, all their sauces are made with produce grown in partnership with unemployed women of the Western Cape. 🫶✨💚 So I decided to fry up some barbecue strips with sweet-potato fries, a tahini and mayo sauce, and a side of salad for lunch on Sunday. The already-cut strips made for very easy preparation — and the strips were smokey and flavoursome. I believe they’ll be available at Wellness Warehouse in the coming week or two, so I’ll definitely be adding them to my shopping basket. I’m also keen to try their black-bean tempeh for a Mexican vibe with tacos 🌮 and guacamole 🥑 and chilli 🌶️ soon. 😋 #theplantpoweredshow #boemboe #tempeh #barbecuetempeh #locallysourced #ethicalfood #abillionwomen #theveganwomensummit
