As someone who grew up on South-Asian cuisine, biriyani is one of my favourites. 😋

🍲 However, the taste really depend on the specific recipe. 🍚🥔🥕🍎🧄🧅🌶️🍋

I came to know that ASHOKA is a brand in existence when I did grocery closeby my area but couldn’t get those products because they were not vegan-friendly as far as I remember and there was another brand of Indian ready-made meals but all of their products (atleast those on display) had dairy. So I couldn’t purchase their version of the biriyani. 😐

One day I was passing by "Saffron Meat" grocery and went there because it was open at that hour and I needed chilli flakes. As I went, I saw this product high up on their shelves and asked for it instantly. 🧐😍

💸 One important note, the person who was in charge at that time charge me 3 dollars and 50 cents. However, the person in charge, the day before yesterday, from the same grocery store, charge me 2 dollars and 99 cents.
I don't know what the actual retail price is supposed to be but within that price range, this product is very good in aspects of taste, presentation and nutrition when compared to super expensive vegan junk-food bought from typical vegan restaurants. ✍🏽

🌟 About the presentation, the tag-line mentionning "A spicy mild preparation of Indian rice and vegetables" is 100% accurate because it is so perfectly put that it's not mild and it’s not too spicy. The addition of the variety of vegetables blended in with the spices really add its true flavours to the rice when served after put on high heat in the microwave oven. Only one thing, the rice inside has become more of brownish colour due to its combination of all ingredients than yellow colour unlike the display cover. So excellent overall on this aspect.
🎆 💯💥👏🏾

☘️Nutritionwise, there is a high amount of iron which is very necessary to our body, a moderate amount of protein, potassium and calcium. The downside is that there is a high amount of sodium which is not good for the body and I do personally prefer a salt-free life to prevent the excessive sweating and the other side effects. But without salt, food like this won't taste good. A carbohydrate bomb which you’ll be expecting because of the nature of the recipe with some bonus saturated fat. Rice is one of the main ingredients and ofcourse it comes with other carbs plus extra oil. So it’s a 50/50 and I would still choose this over a vegan cookie from a vegan restaurant which is ironically often even more expensive (and perhaps poorer nutrition value) than this so filling, simple, delicious, vegan ready-made meal if put side by side.

✅ This company did a great job by coming with their unique, original recipe made with simple ingredients. I highly recommend unless the individual has specific problems with the specific ingredients the recipe calls for. 👌🏾
