I was so #excited to finally find a #veganpesto at a big chain grocers (Sobeys)! I think this was on sale for under $5 so I decided to try it. The #pesto I used to get was either #basil or #sundriedtomato based. I hadn't had #arugula pesto before, but figured it would be just as good. Well, maybe it would be just as good made fresh or from another brand. I found this tasted like #dirtyspinach and I was obviously #notafan. My partner didn't like it either. I'm hoping to make it edible by adding cheese and/or a creamy sauce and some spices to this so it's not all wasted. Wish me luck! 😅

I love that this pesto is accidentally vegan but I think I prefer regular basil pesto. I love arugula so I’m surprised that I’m not a big fan of this. It seems really bitter to me and too oily. Glad I tried it though and it made a super quick and easy pasta dish! #pesto #veganpesto

Read that label again. ARUGULA. Was so hard to eat... However, if you love arugula, you’d probably love this. I however, did not love this. #storytime My sweet boyfriend knows I love pesto and accidentally surprised me with arugula pesto, we didn’t realize it until we both ate some, we were expecting the basil and just that classic taste. The sadness we felt was strong. Silver lining? We had leftovers from the pasta we made, surprisingly better the second day.
This was the only vegan pesto I could find at my regular grocery store. It did the job, but I have to say, arugula pesto really lacks the flavour that basil pesto has! I used this to make some Christmas pinwheels (with chopped sun-dried tomatoes), and they turned out great. I just was missing that basil flavour that’s so good! #veganin202”
