This raw tahini has a more bitter and earthy flavor profile than other tahini. Usually tahini from unhulled sesame seeds has the bitter taste, but I'm not sure if this uses unhulled sesame seeds or not, because unhulled tahini should be a good source of calcium but this tahini has very little calcium according to the label. I usually prefer the tahini that has more calcium. The tahini is smooth and the bitterness can be hidden when mixed with other flavors. I like to use this as a salad dressing or sauce for cabbage noodles. Just mix tahini, soy sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, sweet chili sauce, lemon juice and enough water or plant milk to make a thin enough dressing or sauce. It's great! I found this at Grocery Outlet I think for $6.49. #groceryoutletfinds #raw #whatveganseat #sesameseeds #veganiseasy

What sets this one apart is that the sesame wasn’t roasted. Is it better? I guess it depends on personal taste. I’m pretty indiscriminate towards anything sesame, as long as it’s rich and not heavily adulterated. This one is as unadulterated as a tahini can be. That said, it’s not as “runny” as some other brands and takes a bit wrist strength to scoop out, nothing big that can’t be solved by adding a bit of water if used as a base for something else. #abillionlove
