I first came across the New Zealand brand Antipodes by chance a few years ago.
My usual facial oil was out of stock and I was browsing online, looking for something to replace it with, and the Divine Facial Oil from Antipodes popped up in a 10ml trial size, so I ordered it, as the trial size seemed worth a gamble.
Ā
And it was beautiful ā a beautiful, lush oil thatās perfect for dry and sensitive skin. And that product led me this one: the Culture Probiotic Night Recovery Water Cream, which I ordered when it was first launched. I should say, Iām not someone who casually buys skincare: I research it and read reviews and also read about the company. I really care about what I put on my skin. I had spot-prone skin in my 20s and into my early 30s, and when that phase eventually passed, my skin would easily flare with redness and irritation. What I put on it really mattered.
Ā
And years later, with clear skin, it still does. Iāve always felt the need to layer at night ā a serum or oil followed by a moisturiser ā but not with this product. This moisturiser feels like a long cold drink on a hot day: you can instantly feel your skin just soaking it in, but while deeply moisturising, this cream doesnāt feel heavy. Antipodes say on their site: āimmerse your skin with hyaluronic acid and good bacteria for healthy skinā¦ā and thatās accurate: no redness, but rather calm and clear and hydrated skin. I wish Iād been using this one back in those āangsty skinā days of old as Iām sure it would have settled all that irritation.
Ā
Note: Antipodes isnāt an entirely vegan brand as a number of their products contain Manuka honey, but on their website you can browse under āCertified Veganā products, so itās really easy to find the ones that are right for you.
