Taste like luncheon meat. A bit pricey for a can of luncheon meat😅

Kudos to @m1tch9i for suggesting this amazing combination for lunch today 😋 It feels like a complete indulgent omnivorous meal made vegan 🌱 Just the idea of #spam, #egg, some greens, & rice sounds like my idea of a hearty #hangovercure meal! This was in fact our #hangoverfood of sorts, if you can call the crash of being voted best couple at Kuching’s first pride event and subsequently partying till 8am a hangover 🕗 We even won RM300 to spend at a restaurant which luckily has amazing drinks and a couple #veganizable options! So, this #luncheon though? I think if you like any of their other #cannedfood products, you’ll enjoy a similar texture here. It’s just the taste that isn’t really for me. I’m huge into #blackpepper but I find many products with it a little overdone or accentuating the parts of the pepper I don’t enjoy too much. In this case, as a result of having to cook the #veganspam - it would’ve been the same with an omnivorous one, is that you end up over-cooking the pepper. Having the liberty to control point or level at which your peppers “cook” is important to me. If that’s not a concern to you, this is a solid recommendation though. I’m really happy to see the likes of this being stocked in pretty much every FairPrice I visit! I hope that it one day reaches Malaysian supermarket shelves as ubiquitously as Yumeat has 😋 Plant-based & #crueltyfree options have never been so accessible!
I quite like this version of luncheon meat. It’s not oily and not too salty.. texture wise ok ok too. Also good that it does not have any weird smell.. Cannot wait to try the bbq flavoured one. 🌱😋
