If I was quiet this past weekend, it’s because I was completing my first ever
Spartan Race! I started light with the NorCal Sprint (5k with 20-ish obstacles.) I’m sore and still discovering new bruises, but I honestly did better than I thought I would. #veganstrong #plantpower This #water was one of the post-race freebies at the finish line.
I feel generally a bit iffy about #alkalinewater because 1) it feels like drinking a buffer from chemistry class, and 2) I haven’t seen compelling evidence of its health benefits. It’s generally safe to consume, though if you have health concerns, it may be a good idea to consult with a medical professional. Overall, the taste is generally indistinguishable from other waters, it just gives a slightly more slippery sensation in your mouth. After running, climbing over walls, hauling weights, and wading through cold water, I definitely appreciated the #hydration (with or without the purported wonders of alkalinity!)
