hello #abillionfam 👋 people have shared some really interesting fridge setups so i thought, here’s mine! i do not have the privilege of living in a vegan-only household so there will be the odd animal product here and there 🤞
some notable omissions from the fridge as a Stasher of #tofu and a container of chickpeas of beans 🫘 i am making some right now in the pressure-cooker though! 😋
one thing i will admit is that we have a tonne of jars! 🫙 the entire top shelf goes from a row of different types of #sambal or #chilli product to spreads for bread 🍞 and then dips, things like mustard, and finally jars of garlic and what not we peel ahead of time to speed up cooking 🧑🍳
the second shelf usually contains perishables and leftovers 🥘, the aforementioned container of beans and tofu, but also always overnight oats, several types of pickles 🥒 & sauerkraut, plus always a tub of #hummus and #toum — all home-made 🛀
after that though, it does get kind of random 🙈 the bottom shelf contains our sauces and such cause this is an asian household and like @m1tch9i says, “in Chinese cooking, it’s all in the sauce” 🤌 oh and i guess i store dehydrated berries there too 🤭
we like to store our vegetables loose because one of my other not so right in the head housemate plus i prefer things aesthetics over practicality 💆♀️ i will note that there’s more plastic boxes things than usual because it was raining today and i decided to get fancy lettuce at a supermarket instead of loose veggies from the market in my cotton produce bags (don’t cancel me pls) 🥹 oh also with michelle away for a bit i can resume my rabbit diet because i’m not falling for the so called “protein” myth 🙄 /s
of course in the door of the fridge we have milk 🥛 one of which is actually animal juice cause some people like that i guess?? but the omnis also do consume Oatside so that’s good too and the HOMESOY is pretty much our predominant #mylk because it’s cheap and unsweetened uwu”
ps. the Heineken is @stevenneoh’s i only drink bottom shelf vodka that tastes like hand sanitizer or fancy whiskies that really do not belong in coffee but i put them in there anyways.
i guess i also smuggled some chewing gum from malaysia to feel really naughty 😏 apparently highly contraband here. i love the stuff. makes me feel like a horse. i love feeling like a horse 🐴 it’s so freeing. i finally understand that guy from that bathroom in berlin that one time.
