Proof that you can indeed be healthy as a vegan - Though my HGB levels are slightly high and red blood count slightly low, all other indicators (37) such as cholesterol, haemoglobin, platelets and vitamin levels were observed between ranges which are considered healthy. Furthermore, a recent MRI did not flag anything up of concern… Besides typically eating a whole-food plant-based diet, (smoothies, oat meal, leafy-greens, mushrooms and rice-based dishes feature heavily) I take a multivitamin and an algal omega 3 supplement daily and occasionally a pre-biotic in order to maintain a healthy gut biome. Though I am by no means a perfect vegan, (eating less than I should and still more processed food than I would like) it seems that 3 years without meat, dairy and eggs has not negatively impacted my physical health.
