I was gonna post Minute Maid’s Qoo White Grape Juice as a review. But I’m not sure if it is vegan anymore. (If you know, please comment)

So the ones in Japan are not vegan as they have milk used for Vitamin B. But I’m confused as the vitamin B used in Singapore and Malaysia components are different than the ones in Japan.

My first concern was the Calcium Lactate but now I believe that is vegan. (Sharing a screenshot of an article I read and many others said the same thing)

Second was the Vitamin B3 (which is also called Niacin) and while it is made of milk, it is made synthetically as well (most commercial products are synthetic hence vegan)

Lastly is the Vitamin B6. I cannot for the sake of me find any information on this being vegan. Hence, I believe this is derived from milk.

But what confuses me is that the Singapore/Malaysian Qoo is said to contain permitted food additives that are of NON-ANIMAL origin.

This is making me think that it is vegan as wouldn’t dairy be considered of animal origin.

Anyways I’m sharing for 2 reasons:
1. I really wanna know, if this product (In Singapore / Malaysia NOT Japan or other East Asian countries) are Vegan?

2. Sharing my research process when I’m at a Cafeteria / Grocery Store / Toko / etc. and why reading ingredient lists are important as a vegan / vegetarian. (this is typically how I google ingredient lists : e.g. “Is *Product* Vegan?”To - “is Calcium Lactate vegan?” To “what is *Vitamin B6* derived from / made of?” ) and I wonder if other people are crazy like me and google at the grocery store. I will only google for like 1-3 minutes max and glance. Then at home, I’ll google a bit more just in case. I also check on abillion to see what other vegans have to say about said products

(NOTE: THIS IS NOT A REVIEW - I MIGHT POST IT AS A REVIEW ONCE I KNOW IF THIS IS VEGAN. PLS DONT REGARD THIS POST AS THIS PRODUCT BEING DEFINITELY VEGAN)

astxnto Add on: when I meant the vitamin B is different. I meant this: the ones in Japan contain Vitamins B3, B5, B6, B12 and Folic Acid. The ones in Singapore is only B3 and B6. (B12 is derived from Dairy) (at least almost always)Reply
waisum Omg this is a whole thesis ahaha I had no idea the qoo drink had animal derived additives! Haven’t drank it in a long time and don’t think I will now🤧Thanks for educating 🤓1 likeReply
astxnto I’m not saying it does - I’m saying I’m confused if the one in Singapore is vegan or not as the manufacturer is different than Japan. I think the point was that sometimes finding out if something is vegan or not is harder than it sounds. Reply
