On Monday, May 8, we received a notice from a resident of Villamanta, in Madrid, with several photos of a horse in very poor condition. Such was the urgency that on Tuesday Laura went to the location that they sent us to try to see that horse. When we got there, we clearly identified a case of life or death, and that is that she was literally dying. Laura was present at the civil guard of the Municipality and we filed the corresponding written complaint, in which we asked that the situation of the horse be investigated and we asked that, given the seriousness, it could be transferred to Santuario Vegan as soon as possible, since it was a life emergency case.

That horse is actually an older mare, who was not receiving the care she needed and her case has kept us awake until we found out that she was finally safe.
Three days later they called us from the civil guard to let us know that we could go look for her and we were excited for Princesa. When we approached her, we realized that no one had touched her for years. She didn't even take care of her. She didn't trust people. She was blocked with the approach and missed our caresses.

She brought her some food that she couldn't eat, because no one fixed her teeth in her life. And at over 30 years old, he was starving in a field full of grass, because older horses and mares, with their mouths in such bad shape, cannot eat forage or field grass and need special food, such as porridge. appropriate to their age and condition.
When Princesa arrived at Vegan Sanctuary we were all very excited and she was a bit overwhelmed with excitement. Right now we are concerned about her health and not having arrived too late. There are many worrisome things about her: the most obvious of her, her state of extreme malnutrition.

We want to thank the neighbor who gave us the notice (who brought her jugs of water so she could at least hydrate) and the police and the Villamanta civil guard, for caring about her situation and immediately contacting us to find the best solution for her.

AMADRINA A PRINCESA

El lunes 8 de mayo recibíamos un aviso de un vecino de Villamanta, en Madrid, con varias fotos de un caballo en muy mal estado. Tal era la urgencia que el martes Laura iba a la ubicación que nos pasaron para intentar ver a ese caballo. Al llegar allí claramente identificamos un caso de vida o muerte, y es que literalmente se estaba muriendo. Laura se presenció en la guardia civil del Municipio e interpusimos la correspondiente denuncia por escrito, en la que pedíamos que se investigara la situación del caballo y les pedíamos que dada la gravedad pudiera ser trasladado a Santuario Vegan lo antes posible, y es que era un caso de urgencia vital.

Ese caballo es en realidad una yegüita mayor, que no estaba recibiendo los cuidados que necesitaba y su caso nos ha quitado el sueño hasta saber que por fin estaba a salvo.
Tres días después nos llamaban de la guardia civil para comunicarnos que podíamos ir a buscarla y fuimos emocionados a por Princesa. Cuando nos acercamos a ella nos dimos cuenta que desde hace años nadie la tocaba. Ni la cuidaba. No confiaba en las personas. Se bloqueaba con el acercamiento y extrañada de nuestras caricias.

Le llevamos algo de comida que no pudo comer, porque nadie la arregló los dientes en su vida. Y a sus más de 30 años se estaba muriendo de hambre en un campo lleno de hierba, porque los caballos y yegüas mayores, con la boca en tan mal estado, no pueden comer forraje, ni pasto del campo y necesitan comida especial, como papillas adecuadas a su edad y condición.
Cuando Princesa llegó a Santuario Vegan estábamos todos muy emocionados y ella un poco sobrepasada de estímulos. Ahora mismo nos preocupa su estado salud y no haber llegado demasiado tarde. Hay muchas cosas preocupantes en ella: la más evidente, su estado de desnutrición extremo.

Queremos agradecer al vecino que nos dio el aviso (quien le llevaba garrafas de agua para que pudiera al menos hidratarse) y a la policía y a la guardia civil de Villamanta, por preocuparse de su situación y enseguida contactarnos para buscar la mejor solución para ella.
