Rendang Beyond Meat Epok-Epok

Definitely one of the meatiest tasting due to the beyond meat. Not sure why it’s only available as large sized puffs. I do hope they have smaller sized beyond puffs in the future because it got a bit jelak after a while. #veganisnotscary

Last had this more than a year ago and felt that the filling got sweeter this time...? Which further highlighted the sweet beef-ish taste of the Beyond, which was something to get used to for me because always had epok epoks that were less sweet and beefy before this! But looking beyond that it was a huge solid puff with lots of ingredients and a good crust.

This curry puff is massive. And the filling is oh so delicious. Honestly, one of the best curry puffs I’ve ever had.

XL epok epok is much larger than their other offerings. However, i found the beyond meat to be pretty redundant. There wasnt much given for a 4 dollar curry puff, and it didnt add much to the flavour either. A curry potato filling wouldve been just as good-tasting and much cheaper. The flavour was also not as strong here compared to the rendang puff - i wish there was more spice. However, the one redeeming factor is the crust. I LOVED IT! It was flavourful, buttery and flaky without using one bit of butter - i was very impressed. This is too expensive to buy again, i will probably just stick to my usual potato curry puffs.
