Given #sixsenses is supposed to be health conscious and modern we were excited to try their rendition of sichuan cuisine and expecting more plant-based options at #yellowpot. Pretty disappointed and had to ask for a lot of changes to get anything we could eat. They assured me that these spring rolls were made without eggs but I'm still not sure. They tasted fine, not something I'd typically order because it's deep-fried but with the limited options we had them. Average at best. The plum sauce was the highlight.
For authentic #sichuan cuisine that's also plant-based head to Si Wei Mao Cai #siweimaocai on Mosque Street or Shisen Hanten #shisenhanten on Orchard if you're looking for something fancy!
Tip: We sort of judge sichuan restaurants by the quality of the mapo tofu. Here they refused to make it without beef 🤬 and the few friends at the table that had it said it was awful. The only dish left standing. So I wouldn't go back to Yellow Pot unless they #tryharder!
