Soupe a L'oignon Gratinee

I'm counting this as the first French onion soup I've ever had. I had something with the same name at a vegan restaurant in Duluth, MN, but it was nothing like this. It was pretty watery and not covered in cheese. This was absolutely incredible! I mean it's onions, French bread, and vegan cheese; you really can't go wrong with that! The gruyere on top was really flavorful and delicious. I have some Rebel Cheese gruyere waiting for me at home, so I think trying out some homemade soup is in my future! The most amazing vegan soupe à l’oignon I ever had!! Use of vegan cheese is perfect. Can’t wait to have it again

This was delicious. I’m not a huge onion fan, but my husband got it and I tried it. The onion is there but subtle. We didn’t taste the bread that’s typically supposed to be in this soup, but we also didn’t miss it. And it wasn’t too salty (which many French onion Soups are) which is a bonus. Flavorful and the cheese was smooth.
