Bumbu Bali

It’s possible that after spending a year and a half in Singapore my standards really have dropped 🤗 Either that or this, naturally being a sweet dish, is a far better adaptation than their Thai red #curry ever could have been https://www.abillion.com/dishes/genius-central-singapore-thai-red-curry-10068792 🍛 Unless bumbu means something else in Bali, I’m to understand this means “Bali seasoning” or “flavours of Bali”, to stretch it. I’m not so sure? The #curry / #gulai is sweet again, tasting more akin to #soto than something you’d have chunky things in. Speaking of, it’s definitely very #eggplant forward 🍆 though you’ll make a notes presence of the #mushroom 🍄, carrot 🥕, and potato too 🥔 The portion is ridiculous. Nobody needs to eat this much. Especially not in Singapore 😵 No wonder everyone around me has a gym membership. Thank about the #lazyvegan folk why don’t you! Makes the S$18 kind of alright I guess 🤷‍♀️ Minus the fact that service here & the whole co-working setup really leaves a lot to be desired. To sit in the co-working area and gain access to the Wifi, you’ll need to put down S$18 (before the absurd amount of tax) as a minimum deposit for the next 4 hours. Then, to use up that deposit you’ll have to call for table service instead of using the QR code system they’ve got for everything else. You’d think after all that they’d make table service more convenient… NOT 🤦‍♀️ Not only did their staff completely forget about us twice, once me getting up to the main counter and asking if we could order, they have a notice in the co-working area that priority would in fact be given to diners anyways 😑 Come here for the food, if anything, but anything else really isn’t worth it. Several other patrons also made comment over the spotty internet 🛜 It was acceptable for me. They were out of the good beers too 🥹 What a time to be alive where #veganisnotscary and there’s good plant-based food everywhere but you’ll have to fight for a pint over your lunch break 🍻

Loving the sauce which was full of flavour, serving portion was generous (not just all rice).

Thick creamy curry with rice. Could do with a few pieces of tofu! Low to medium spice. The Genius Curry was sold out when we arrived so I wonder how it would've compared.
