Braised Tofu

Yummy 😋 I can’t get enough of this #leicha #meekolok 🙈 It is a treat though because the portion is huuugggeee 🤰 so @m1tch9i and I have opted for splitting it instead and having a side of #tofu instead ✌️ It’s nice because frankly anything #braised is 🤷‍♀️ so I don’t know what’s the surprise 😉 If you haven’t been here since they’ve reopened I highly suggest you do! 🙌

This dish is sublime. Did not expect it to taste so good. The flavours are complex and not overwhelmingly of soy sauce. As good as it gets in some expensive Teochew restaurants. This stall does a small amount of dishes and they are all amazing.

This bowl of braised tofu is the most pleasing, comforting dish. Tastes like home, and brewed to perfection so it's neither too sweet nor too salty. Hits the spot all the time. Generous chunks of taukwa with beancurd skin and some kelp. We ate this throughout Circuit Breaker and it was the perfect sustenance - keeps for about a week in the fridge, so perfect when paired with rice/noodles and boiled veggies. LOVE. #veganuary

$3.5! I personally thought it was too thick and sweet but it’s very similar to the original I think and even has fake shredded pork? The gravy is so thick it looks like ramen broth
