I’ve always wondered what a Phil Collin’s song would taste like 💭 Not that this tastes like one, though for a moment I was taken to a place of sererenity in which I no longer needed to wonder 🧘‍♀️ I’m serious, no #tohu has any business being this amazing 🤯

The yellow centre is per it being made from yellow #splitpea 🫘 so while it does look like #tofu and is often used in the same context, it does taste quite different. Kind of like cubed #dhal? 😅

I’m a huge fan of the #batter and sauce pairing they used — it reminds me of “telur balado” or “telur rebus goreng tepung” you get at at a #mamak 🐣 Literally deep-fried boiled eggs 😅 I’m reminded to try that with Yo Egg now ☺️

Back to this dish ☝️ It was served with a side of nuts 🥜 and deep-fried fluffy vermicelli 🍜 I know there’s a proper noun for it but my brain is just malfunctioning cells and search engines are basically useless thanks to SEO and the attention economy 🙃 You see? Just one day without this and I’m already grumpy 😾 I never regret a #secretvegantakeover meal ✌️
