When I first tasted it, I realized I don’t remember how creme brûlée tasted like 😅 but this was pretty good!! And “breaking the sugar” at the top was great too!

This drink is made with Cocchi Rosa, passion fruit, lemon, basil, and tiki bitters. The passion fruit was the main flavor but not overpowering. It has such a smooth mouth feel that was very welcomed. I wanted something light and sweet on this warm spring evening, and a drink with watermelon sounded perfect! This drink is made from watermelon, basil, lime juice & zest, and dry vermouth. Unfortunately I didn't taste as much basil as I would have liked to. The vermouth gave it a nice well rounded botanical taste though. Ladybird does not carry any liquor, just wine, sherry, and vermouth, so all of the cocktails are pretty light. This is a more traditional bun option at Ladybird. This contains tofu marinated in a teriyaki-like sauce, pickled pepper & jalapeño, hoisin, and scallion. Again, even with whole slices of jalapeño, this really wasn't spicy to me. The big slab of tofu was a nice meat for the bun. The pepper added a nice freshness that was good on a warm spring night. We love po' boys, so we had to try the po' boy bun! Between the pillow soft bao bun is crispy cauliflower, Sriracha aioli, sesame seed, and coleslaw. I love slaw so I really liked that addition. I think I would have preferred the "meat" to be something other than cauliflower because I really prefer tofu or mushroom po' boys. It makes sense that it's cauliflower though because they cover all the bases with the buns; the other two options feature tofu and mushroom. Despite the Sriracha aioli, I don't think this was spicy. I'm not sure if my spice receptors are damaged, or maybe Ladybird steers away from spice in their dishes. I don't mind! This is my second time ever having arancini and this one takes the cake! This finger food came out piping hot. I almost burnt my mouth on the first one! It was so good though and luckily I didn't damage my mouth for the rest of the trip. These arancini are served in a vessel traditionally used to escargot. I think it's a perfect cruelty-free repurposing of this dinnerware. The breading on these fried rice balls was amazing and the rice inside was so soft and creamy with mozzarella and green peas. Under each arancini was a Sriracha-based sauce. I didn't find it very hot, but it was a great dip. There was something almost with a bit of sea flavor that I couldn't quite put my finger on. It was very welcomed. This was my first bite of food in NYC yesterday and it was absolutely orgasmic. I was getting a bit hangry from traveling, so I was really looking forward to going to one of the many vegan restaurants within a short walk from the hotel. This one was recommended by a friend who went to NYU. The two breaded thick slices of eggplant were crunchy on the outside and so soft on the inside. The "ricotta" on top was so creamy and flavorful. This restaurant is #nutfree, so I bet it's made out of tofu. The microbasil on top was so fresh and made the dish so beautiful. This was also my first time eating in one of those covered sidewalk patios in New York that became extra prolific because of Covid. I loved the privacy granted by the terrace structure and the ambience with the soft lighting and many plants. I also really love the tapas structure of this restaurant. It was all about sharing plates which is all @jonok and I do anyway.
