Vegan Basil Pesto

Used this tofu-based pesto in a creamy pasta with butter beans, kale, silken tofu, nutritional yeast, and a few extra seasonings. Loved the result. It mixed in effortlessly and helped bring everything together into a rich, satisfying sauce.

Great prepared vegan pesto. Delicious and hassle-free option when you want a quick pasta fix.

This #pesto is sans #pinenuts so it’s definitely less rich than what I’m typically used to, but making your own is a ridiculously expensive endeavour in Singapore 🫠 Thankfully that also means it’s more accessible for people with nut allergies or are looking to cut back on their calories — though it’s still 100 kcal per serving 💀 Oil is fat is fat, honey 💅 They supposedly use #tofu in this but taste or texture wise it really isn’t noticeable. What’s odder is that they list potatoes in the ingredients 🥔 I think that potatoes are the right answer in any situation but I still think it’s a little odd 🧐 Perhaps as a thickener? 🤷‍♀️ I got this at NTUC 🛒 I’d recommend adding some #nooch or pinenuts yourself if you need a little extra richness 😉 Otherwise, it’s plenty decent as is ✌️

Delicious pesto which contains tofu. Very fragrant. It doesn’t contain nuts, which is great for those with nut allergies. Contains the usual ingredients in pesto such as basil and olive oil.
