These are protein pack dried soy slices. You need to soak them for a good 30 minutes before using it. It does become chewy afterwards. It's bland by itself so it's a good addition to soups/stews and such.
Found these at our local Asian market and they were fun to cook with! They take 30 minutes to rehydrate, so plan accordingly for your meal. I rehydrated them in some Better Than Bouillon Chickenless Broth, chopped them up, then cooked them with some oil and chili-lime seasoning to make Bahn mi’s. The texture was great and they actually turned out more crunchy than I expected. Though if you reheat them in the microwave for too long, they will become chewy, hard, and inedible. #soy #veganmeat #soymeat #bahnmi
We love this brand and have tried many products by Verisoy. I use them as mock meats especially with things like vegan bbq pork! It takes some experimenting so if you've never used this product, look up a recipe first, that will give you the tools you need :) once you learn how to use this , you will think of all kinds of creative ways to use it.
