Red Pepper Spread with Eggplant and Garlic

Not bad! I like this red-pepper-forward #spread on bread/sandwiches; I imagine it’d also work nicely as a pasta #sauce. The consistency is pretty smooth, with some small #redpepper chunks. It’s not at all spicy, just flavorful (if a little bitter,) and it can be used cold or heated. I don’t taste the #eggplant very much. Actually, the spread is a bit sweeter than I expected, which for me is the only drawback, though some people online have also complained about the bitterness. I think it was just $2.99, which is a great price for this large 12 oz. jar. #ajvar

Not sure if this is exactly the same product as “Ajvar” that you can buy in most eastern european/balkan countries, but it tastes the same. It’s mildly spicy and goes great with bread or vegan burgers and sausages. Lasts a while in the fridge too. Glass jar.

I'm really glad I picked this out! This is really flavorful and surprisingly the eggplant comes through nicely. I tried it on some toast with Violife feta and arugula and it was a nice snack! I can tell it would be great with pasta, pizza, and roasted veggies. #veganisnotscary
