Plantein Plant Based Burgers

These are the Goldilocks for me. Meaty enough to satisfy, but not too much like meat for the ewww factor. These were under $2 on sale. I'd prefer they were in larger packs - 2 seems quite watesful for the amount of packaging.

A $2.95 stable shelf-price for these is pretty awesome. Nutrients look good too - good protein and fibre amount, and lower fat than other plant burgers. Cooks up firm and is surprisingly juicy. Main gripe is that sometimes the texture of these feels gritty - like half-pulverised bone was thrown into the mix (sorry, can't think of a better comparison right now 🫣). #burger #protein #veganmeat

An excellent product all round 🍔 These burger patties could be my favourite from supermarkets that I’ve tried in recent times. Generous in size, nice and thick, great flavour and succulent “meaty” texture. The packaging seems excessive but it is all recyclable. Best part is that they’re only $2.95 for 2 patties. That works out to $14.75/kg which is cheaper than most beef patties! I saw recently that Plantein have launched a whole range of products for only $2.95 which puts them miles ahead of most comparable meat substitutes (and even sometimes the “real thing”), love to see it!
