Haven't had leicha from Lau Pa Sat in ages because I found the broth too watered down for my liking on previous occasions. Gave it a chance today and pleasantly surprised the standard of the green thunder tea broth was much improved! Bowl of ingredients sadly didn't include the classic leicha #darkleafygreens in the form of mani chye, but: cai xin, cabbage, long beans, roasted peanuts, cai po (preserved radish) and tofu cubes instead. #asktoveganise by omitting anchovies, and if you're not into rice like me, you can opt for rice vermicelli or cut out these ricey carbs altogether.
Yes. I ate another lei cha again in the same week. This was not my favourite tbh, after eating the flavourful one in my previous posts which is the vivocity one, but it is definitely cheaper than vivocity. But then again this store is only selling thunder tea rice but the tea was very watery, more on the herby side
One of my favorite thunder tea rice in town. Very customizable and offers brown rice too
A very filling Thunder Tea rice, the soup is a bit thin but the taste is good and I find the portion very generous
One has to request for it to be vegan (not too difficult for them to do so). Taste was great. The basil mint soup was a little watery but all good when mixed into the dish (as in picture). Nut allergen alert - if allergic to peanuts - but this can be quickly fixed
