Claypot Chicken Cube Rice

One of my favourite dishes here! I love the umami flavoured rice with the crispy charred bits at the bottom (which are the best!), the tasty vegetables (bell peppers, broccoli and carrots), mushrooms and the mock chicken cubes. I do wish there were more vegetables and mushrooms as the dish is typically more rice-heavy. Other than that, a really 10/10 dish. Savoury and fragrant soy sauce rice with crisp scorched edges, shiitake mushrooms, bell pepper, broccoli florets, carrot slices, and ginger shreds. 🍄‍🟫🫑🥦🥕🫚 I liked that the textured soy protein 'chicken' was quite toothsome and that there wasn't an overwhelmingly strong mock meat aftertaste! 🍗 Personally would have liked a bit of 'lupcheong sausage' and chestnuts for greater authenticity, and would also love it if they could offer vegan monkeyhead mushrooms for their claypot rice (they currently use the kind with egg powder for their hericium mushroom claypot rice). Truly a satisfying meal. I chose to add brown rice instead of white. Delicious and fragrent sizzling rice dish served in a super hot claypot, with veggies and mock chicken chunks. The chicken chunks we cooked well and had a super soft texture. Had a bit of charred rice at the bottom with some amazing flavour. Highly recommended. $7.96 for the dish and $0.46 add-on for the brown rice - $8.42 in total excluding GST. Super affordable for the portion, and is filling enough.

Didn't taste like claypot rice, no charred rice at the bottom, maybe just served the cooked rice into a hot claypot. The chicken pieces were of the same as the marmite ribs but flavoured differently only. Flavour of the rice waa ok but overall mediocre.

Affordable vegetarian/ vegan place in Orchard! Great flavours. Good size portion. Option to change it to brown rice. Would be great if there were charred rice bits on the edges of the claypot. Would return!
