Hats off to Walmart; they were able to make a vegan Mac and cheese with a liquid cheese packet that actually tastes pretty good! Daiya's deluxe Mac and cheese with the liquid packet is rough, so I haven't had much confidence in any other brands. The powders seem like the right direction to go in. @jonok came home after an excursion with many different Mac and cheeses we haven't seen before, including this Walmart in-house brand.
I enjoyed that the macaroni noodles were larger here. They held the sauce well and were the perfect size for the Kirkland Signature peas we added in. The cheese sauce itself was pretty nice. It had a good texture and wasn't overly flavorful. I always end up adding nooch, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper to my Mac anyway, so it was a good jumping-off point. I would recommend reserving some pasta water and adding it in with the cheese, just to thin it out a bit more and make it easier to mix.
