Plant-Based Roast & Gravy du Tofurky — Avis de Iszy (26 nov. 2023)

Usually I go with a breaded roast, but this year I wanted something that would fit in my little Dutch oven so it wouldn't take up too much space in the host's oven. I was excited to try this OG roast! It was fun creating my own baste. I used hot water, Better Than Bouillon no chicken base, soy sauce, olive oil, black pepper, rosemary, and dried minced lemon peel. I had it in the oven for 75 minutes and brushed more baste on every 15 minutes. I added parchment paper under it so the veggies could be seasoned differently and wouldn't simmer in the baste. For the veggies I used purple carrots and parsnips. I didn't end up using the gravy it came with because @jonok made a delicious mushroom gravy I'd rather try. I'll probably just save the gravy for the next time I make potatoes for myself. I really enjoyed the stuffing. I could see it had wild rice which is a favorite of mine this time of year.
