I used this mushroom seasoning blend to make a gravy for my mashed potatoes and it turned out great! The seasoning is a little spicy but it also has a nice savory flavor. I've used this to season other foods like seitan but often the savory flavor gets lost and I'm left with the heat from the pepper. It's still a really good product- just need to experiment to find the right foods to use it on.
For the gravy I whisked about 3/4 tsp seasoning with 1/4 cup of water and heated it on a pan. Then I mixed 1/2 Tbsp cornstarch with 1 Tbsp cold water. I gradually added a little bit of the cornstarch mixture to the simmering seasoned mixture until I got a gravy-like consistency. I only used about half of my cornstarch mixture.
Definitely would recommend having this on hand. 😘
