Review of Fun with Black at Smol by dafnelately
I might be having a migraine this morning and am not able to think clearly đââïž but Iâm pretty sure Iâm right when I say this, like many their #pokebowls, was amazing! I was out with a couple #queervegan friends for dinner and this was a strong recommendation đââïž It was near their closing hours by the time we had our dinner, a quarter past 7, so they hadnât any âblood orangeâ left so I swapped that out for butternut squash which I anyways prefer and added some #mushroom to the mix for steep S$2 surcharge đ± but thatâs just the kind of #mushroomlover I am! đ The âblackâ in this dish refers to their base of #blackrice. Iâm a rice queen đž so of course this really made the dish for me, needless to say of their lush choice of toppings! Seared #tofu, cucumber đ„, red cabbage đ„Ź, avocado đ„ accompanied by a âCocoPeanutâ dressing and topped with #sesameseeds, #pickledginger đšâđŠ°, some #chilliflakes for that hint of #spicy, and the infamous coriander đż Iâm not big on avocado but itâs mushiness and herby boiled banana flavour actually worked well with their dressing and helped numb the heat of the chilli flakes. Iâm really delighted that this had some spice to it, actually! A pleasant surprise đ I do recommend bringing your own cutlery when dining here because while they provide disposable biodegradable bamboo cutlery, trash is trash and the more waste we can reduce the better! Especially in Singapore where everything is incinerated anyways đ S$12.90 for the base meal; Iâd get it again cause itâs great but it surely will not be a frequent thing đ
