I am DEVASTATED 😭 I spent over 20 minutes writing my magnum opus of reviews just to have it disappear after I post it and realise that there’s an issue with our API server 🥲 We feel your pain too 🤞 So between this S$12.90 #pokebowl, some expensive energy drinks I got, & a brand new bottle of gin.. I’m on a #retailtherapy splurge 🥹 I’m luckily I decided to go for therapy today though cause wow, a new option! 🎉 It’s a #special available only at their Lau Pa Sat outlet inspired by the popular Satay Street at night. The #satay here is based on #jackfruit and gosh is it good 😋 The last time I had one of their #veganjackfruit dishes, I was not impressed because I still tasted far too much sweetness. This one was properly marinated though and rich in #peanut goodness 🥜 The #sataysauce was honestly a bit too runny and nothing like how I prefer or would personally make it, but it at least tastes pretty nice. Nobody goes for these hipster #pokebowls for authenticity anyways 😜 We’re just trying to feel something 💔 It comes with a #quinoa base & is paired with cucumber 🥒, pineapple 🍍, rocket leaves 🚀, and some amazing raw shallots 🧅 The broccoli you see there was an add-on on my part to up on the retail therapy aspect of this dish 😉 I’d get it again. I would probably need to again 🙃 Who would’ve thought that my bachelor’s in computer science would make me an expert in entomology? 🙂 🐜 🦟 🪳

I might be having a migraine this morning and am not able to think clearly 💆‍♀️ but I’m pretty sure I’m right when I say this, like many their #pokebowls, was amazing! I was out with a couple #queervegan friends for dinner and this was a strong recommendation 💁‍♀️ It was near their closing hours by the time we had our dinner, a quarter past 7, so they hadn’t any “blood orange” left so I swapped that out for butternut squash which I anyways prefer and added some #mushroom to the mix for steep S$2 surcharge 😱 but that’s just the kind of #mushroomlover I am! 🍄 The “black” in this dish refers to their base of #blackrice. I’m a rice queen 👸 so of course this really made the dish for me, needless to say of their lush choice of toppings! Seared #tofu, cucumber 🥒, red cabbage 🥬, avocado 🥑 accompanied by a “CocoPeanut” dressing and topped with #sesameseeds, #pickledginger 👨‍🦰, some #chilliflakes for that hint of #spicy, and the infamous coriander 🌿 I’m not big on avocado but it’s mushiness and herby boiled banana flavour actually worked well with their dressing and helped numb the heat of the chilli flakes. I’m really delighted that this had some spice to it, actually! A pleasant surprise 😇 I do recommend bringing your own cutlery when dining here because while they provide disposable biodegradable bamboo cutlery, trash is trash and the more waste we can reduce the better! Especially in Singapore where everything is incinerated anyways 🙄 S$12.90 for the base meal; I’d get it again cause it’s great but it surely will not be a frequent thing 😋
