Popcorn Tofu, Zuchini & Corn fritters, side salad and sticky rice. Amazing! I really need to branch out and try some of their other vegan options but this just soooo good. I definitely recommend it.

Crispy fried tofu in a fluffy bao bun with fresh coriander and pickled carrot - tasty, but not as good as the eggplant bao! The tofu could’ve done with a bit more flavour.

Happily, ‘The Vegetarian Option’ from The Old Quarter’s $15 lunch menu is also vegan! The peanutty hoisin sauce is to die for at this place (I have recently figured out there’s no special tricks - it’s the Lee Kum Kee brand). This lunch special comes with fresh herby summer rolls, crispy veggie dumplings, dipping sauce, a fresh salad, and a spoonful of coconut sticky rice (which I always want more of). For $15 NZD it’s good value for money - I’ve been back for more several times.
