Nuleaf is a new vegan restaurant in Manhattan's Flatiron District, focusing on sandwiches, bowls and salads. The Buffalo Chicken Sandwich exceeded my expectations. The seitan 'chicken' was super flavourful with just the right amount of chew, and was complemented with a tasty Buffalo sauce. The sandwich came with celery, onion, blue cheese dressing and was made with focaccia. When dining in, the sandwich is served with minimal waste, on a piece of parchment in a wire basket. I got mine to go and they happily used my reusable container and omitted the paper wrapping for the least waste. Their drinks are dispensed from a fountain so bring your own mug/bottle to avoid plastic cups. Also bring your own utensils if ordering bowls or salads. We cannot afford to support the fossil fuel industry with all the plastic junk. Kudos to Nuleaf for not forcing disposables on their customers. Fossil fuels and waste of any kind kills animals so please be a mindful consumer :-)
