We recently rescued two guinea fowl keets from a feed store who were left to die due to a condition called splay leg. The condition is usually curable with early intervention and physical therapy, but unfortunately the employees at the feed store are unable to provide this care to the birds they are selling. We reached out to our friends at Six Paws Farm Sanctuary, as they have many guinea fowl residents and have extensive knowledge on splay leg and how to treat it. They agreed to take the guinea babies, and we met at Tigi’s Ethiopian Restaurant to transfer them into their care! I got the four item platter and chose Shiro Wot, Kik Alicha Wot, Bakela Wot, and Tikil Gomen Wot as my options. The Shiro Wot was my favorite, but wow the Tikil Gomen Wot was also amazing — the cabbage was perfectly caramelized and had a lovely sweet flavor. Good food and good friends and rescued animals 🥹🩷 What more could you want?!
