This was okay, was a bit of a let down. Having tried the brioche at Gautheir Soho I was expecting a very good pastry, but this was just dry and lacked that custard filling. 🇫🇷 Scrumptious vegan 🥐croissants by Alexis Gauthier in his newish vegan bakery, 123V Bakery. I took this to go for my partner to try but he didn’t want it. I used it to make a yummy hot vegan cheese 🧀and tomato 🍅breakfast sandwich with some spinach🌿 for health. It’s £2.50 for their croissants and this was great warmed up the next day. I love this all vegan bakery where I feel confident that everything is vegan and safe to eat. This was a nice chai latte although probably not my favorite one. It was £3 for the regular or more for a large. They use oat milk unless you ask for something else. They do amazing pastries and sandwiches here with a salad bar too which I haven’t tried yet. 🥪 This was so original and delicious. It’s shredded tofu crab 🦀with a pink 🌹rose mayo, 🥬lettuce, 🍋lemon, fermented radish, and 🍘seaweed. The flavor and textures were great and lovely to have a warm sandwich on a chilly rainy day. £7.50 and totally worth it for something so unique. 🇫🇷This almond croissant 🥐was to die for! Best one I’ve ever had in my life hands down, vegan 🌱or non vegan. 🤤There was so much deliciously creamy, sweet, and nutty filling inside like marzipan I guess. But I’m not exactly an expert on that as I never ate it in the US 🇺🇸growing up or the 🇬🇧UK. Luckily I got the last one for £2.80. The staff member said they don’t always have them. I learned recently that they use the left over croissant from the day before to make the almond croissants usually. I’m not sure if that’s the practice here too. 🇫🇷 This is the new all vegan 🌱 bakery by Alexis Gauthier, the Michelin ⭐️starred chef near Tottenham Court Road in London. In the morning there’s 🥐viennoiserie and at lunch they have a 🥗salad bar and fancy focaccia 🥪sandwiches. In the evening it becomes Studio Gauthier for vegan fine dining at more reasonable prices. This custard Danish was superb for £2.80 and I couldn’t resist trying one more pastry. 🤦‍♀️ I was sad they didn’t have the almond croissant that @koelnerfrau had raved about. I think they are only open Monday to Friday at the minute which is a shame for those of us who work in the week. 🇫🇷 123V Bakery is the new all vegan 🌱 bakery with some patisserie and viennoiserie. At lunch they have an all vegan 🥗salad bar and focaccia 🥪sandwiches. At night it transforms to Studio Gauthier, all vegan fine dining all by the Michelin ⭐️starred chef, Alexis Gauthier. I couldn’t resist this cinnamon roll as they are a real favorite of mine and it did not disappoint. It was perfectly balanced with cinnamon and sugar in my opinion and probably the best vegan one I’ve had. It was £3.50 and I’d happily go back for another. @koelnerfrau shared they had the best almond croissant 🥐that she’d ever had but they weren’t selling that when I went, boo. I think the bakery is only open Monday to Friday now which is a shame. 🇫🇷🎉 We have regular vegan 🌱French patisserie in London now, woo hoo!! Thanks to @koelnerfrau for enticing me here. 123V Bakery is Alexis Gauthier’s new vegan patisserie set in his new all vegan restaurant, Studio Gauthier. This is the more accessible ie cheaper sister restaurant to his very upmarket vegan fine dining place, Gauthier Soho. They are all worth a visit. The bakery and bar are at the front. There are colourful tables out front and a gorgeous outdoor terrace to eat at the back. In the morning there are patisserie. At lunch there are delicious looking sandwiches like crab cake sandwiches and focaccia based 🥪sandwiches along with a 🥗salad bar. At dinner it turns into Studio Gauthier, more fine dining, and you need to book. Back to the pain aux raisins 🥐which was £2.80. This was very large but slightly off putting to see the white icing bits added on the top. That is not very authentically French. It doesn’t need it and my French partner also didn’t approve. The rest of it is awesome and full of raisins and moist flaky pastry. It would be perfect without the icing as it’s sweet enough.
