Looking forward to the day when “vegan” and “cruelty-free” are the overwhelming norm. As someone once said: “Nothing is so strong as gentleness, and nothing is so gentle as true strength.”

Being a fan of both key lime pie and cheesecake it was impossible to resist trying this, and that proved to be a really good decision. The texture was ideal and the flavor was the perfect marriage of two dessert classics. more

This cheese board was both beautifully presented and indescribably delicious! It included almond ricotta, aged cashew cheese, a pecan-rolled farmer’s cheese, pickled vegetables, olives, peaches, watermelon, roasted garlic, more

What if everyone knew what most vegans know about how animals are treated? I suspect that there would be a lot more vegans, as I do believe most people have compassion. I ran across an article about a new food labeling law more

helena12345 Yes, @sianski made a post about this too.
I think we can’t underestimate how many people just don’t care either. I mean, everyone knows the animal has to be killed in orde for humans to eat it…3 likesReply
vegan4thecritters I missed the post by @sianski on the subject and just happened upon the article. I agree with you 100% that people know on some level that animals have to be killed, and cognitive dissonance plays a big part in people saying they love animals while still eating them. I also think that many people really do care, otherwise the animal agriculture industry wouldn’t go to such great lengths to hide the unvarnished truth. We’d all like nothing better than to wake up tomorrow to a vegan world. Progress is obviously much too slow for the animals, but throughout history humans have proved themselves to be slow to accept big changes to cultural norms. I’ve seen a lot of progress in the over 50 years since I first stopped eating animals, and the more we educate people the faster we’ll reach the tipping point and the animal agriculture industry will crumble. They see the writing on the wall…2 likesReply
sianski Thanks for tagging me helena12345 and thanks for posting about the Swiss labelling too vegan4critters. The facts are shocking and, like you I think people become compassionate when they are informed. 3 likesReply

The house-made black bean patty in this burger could easily stand alone…while I couldn’t put my finger on the seasonings, the taste and texture were both amazing. It was served in a toasted bun with lettuce, tomato, red more

sanleeping My daughter aged 8 was taken to a circus for birthday party she came out crying and so angry . She was already vegetarian for the animals. I regret not educating myself and my kids about the horror of the dairy industry .
Children being told the truth is the future, they already know what is right. 1 likeReply
vegan4thecritters I couldn’t agree more! Kids seem to have an instant and natural connection with non-human animals, and I’m a strong proponent for humane education programs. Hopefully those will continue to grow and gain traction.Reply
