Il Fornello, Bayview Village

The vegan Margherita was absolutely amazing. The crust was the perfect thickness, the tomato sauce had an amazing aroma and was so fresh and the cheese would be mistaken for non-vegan mozzarella. Il Fornello has a separate plant-based menu with various traditional Italian dishes. Definitely support their plant-based menu options!

Mushroom Poutine, Buffalo Wings, Shiitake Burger

Copper Branch

Everything on the copper branch menu is top notch! The mushroom poutine was amazing, the gravy was very rich, the vegan cheese curds were so creamy and it was well-seasoned. Buffalo wings at copper branch are a must have for me every time I visit. So flavourful, spicy, delicious and the aioli sauce that it comes with is bombbbb. Lastly, the shittake burger is one of my favourite burgers from copper branch because it is light, filling and so fresh. The shiitake mushroom in the burger tastes similar to chicken and the coleslaw gives it a whole new depth of flavours. Overall, amazing food and awesome variety of unique options on a fully vegan menu.

The Bianca, Queso Dip, Planta Burger, ‘Chickn’ Fried Mushrooms

The Bianca pizza was delicious and had a unique taste, much different than traditional pizza. Queso dip was beautifully presented and the black beans were cooked to perfection. I was excited about the Planta burger but unfortunately it did not live to my expectations, perhaps because I got the fried mozz melt on top, there were just too many flavours and textures going on for my personal preference. Loved the fries, they tasted like barbecue chips! Fried mushrooms were also great, but I think they are more comparable to calamari or fried seafood than chicken.
