Before I start my review of this sandwich.  I want to start off by saying what a wonderful place this eatery this place is.  They've only been open less than five months and they're absolutely on fire🔥.

Not only to they serve up great vegan burgers, sandwiches and ice cream, but they're also extremely reasonable on their prices. 

A vegan meatball sandwich.  What is there not to like!  Super scrumptious with a nice melty vegan cheeze and marinara sauce.  The only unfortunate thing is that it's a special, so get it while you can.

The seitan cheesesteak at Blackbird is a popular vegan sandwich made with juicy, flavorful seitan slices, a melted cheese-like sauce, crispy onions, and a freshly baked hoagie roll. Some customers have reported that it's a satisfying and delicious sandwich that leaves them craving more. If you're looking for a vegan cheesesteak, Blackbird is a great place to try one out.

Philly is the place to be for cheesesteaks, but what about vegan cheesesteaks? 

Now Blackbird happens to be one of the best vegan pizzeria in the US, but what they're also known for is their cheesesteaks.  

This vegan cheesesteak checks off all the boxes of what a cheesesteak should be.  Yummy sliced steak (seitan) and a delicious cheese wiz like cheese sauce with onions and the perfect hoagie bread.

If you've been to Blackbird and haven't had their Seitan Cheesesteak, you're missing out.

Elderflower Power

This location just had their grand opening and wow, was it amazing!

I decided in the Elderflower Power cinnamon roll.  This roll has elderflower frosting, blueberries, vegan marshmallows, and jam.

Every bite was absolutely delicious.  Completely blows away any other cinnamon bun that I've ever had.  I really can't wait to try more of these.

Margarita Pizza

Wood Stack Pizza + Kitchen

Wood Stack Pizza offers vegan cheese and mozzarella.  When ordering the lies make sure to let them know you're vegan and that you want the pizza with vegan mozzarella without pecorino cheese.

I ordered the Margarita pizza with a few extra toppings: basil, spinach, garlic, mushrooms and kalamata olives. 

I must say, when it comes to wood fired pizza, the definitely know what they're doing.  Perfectly cooked crust and delicious toppings with vegan cheese.

Wow that looks awesome! It's so hard to find vegan mozz or ricotta!

Crostini

Wood Stack offers vegan mozzarella and vegan ricotta as a replacement, so I figured why not get the crostini with vegan ricotta.

The crostini comes as a trio:
- Caponata (Sicilian eggplant dish)
- Italian soffritto
- Green Olive Tapenade

All three are served on top of a crostini with vegan ricotta.  All three are mouthwatering, if you come here, you must get this.

Vegetable Fried Rice

I got this as a lunch special for my toddler son.  Not my favorite version of fried rice, but it's still really good. 

I wish they used a little more of a variety of vegetables rather than just peas, carrots, corn, and a miniscule amount of mushrooms.  I wish they would put some baby corn and broccoli on it.

Kung Pao Chicken

Went to my favorite Vegan Chinese restaurant and got this as a lunch special. 

It's everything you would expect of a Kung Pao dish; delicious Kung pao sauce with peanuts.  They use a soy base for their "meat" and has a perfect texture and whatever they use to season it, makes it taste great.

Proof that you don't need fish paste to make a delicious Kimchi.  This is one of my favorite kimchi brands.  I always have a jar.... or two in the refrigerator at all times.  

Gut health is important, why should you have yo sacrifice on taste.  This stuff is great and I'm glad that I can find in in so many places like my local supermarket and Target.

Cookies and Cream Cake

Sweet Ave is one of my favorite local vegan bakeries!  

On my recent visit I needed a cake for company coming over for the Easter holiday.  We decided on a cookies and cream cake and they decorated it nice for Easter.

The chocolate cake was super delicious as for the icing and the cookies and cream filling.

Stuffed Pepper

Roots Café

This is another great creation by Roots Café!  

The filling is very similar to what they use to make the Neat Balls, so if you're a fan of those, I would recommend getting this.  It's drizzled with a creamy cashew sauce.  De-lish! 🤤

I would definitely recommend this as an appetizer as, it's not very big.
