Here was the menu description: ‘A must-try HK street snack! Rice flour base filled with fresh white turnip, tofu “bacon”, and shiitake mushrooms’
Here’s how it was:
Texture: sad, non-crispy outer with gloop inner. Taste: awesome. Especially with the red ‘hoisin’ sauce that didn’t look like hoisin sauce. I think in order to make the unfortunate gloopiness of the inside a great experience the outer needs to be the polar opposite, which is very crispy. I don’t care if more oil is involved and it’s less healthy, it needs that crispiness badly.
