I just read online that some people call this a #foochow #bagel? 😅 Finding vegan #kompia outside is such a treat! I mean, the omnivore is a rarity enough for quality 🥹 I dropped some off at my parents today and my brother had to text me about how good it was 😆 #omnivoreapproved ftw! 🙌 You’ll have to buy it off a #hawkerstall by the #laksa and #kwaychap — paid separately too 😉 So far I’ve only been & seen it on Saturdays but drop a comment if you see it other days too! 👇 It’s delicious 🤤 The #kompyang has a sweet taste per the #sweetdreamsaremadeofgrease amount of oil / #veganbutter they douse the whole thing in 💗 Perhaps the filling too — Frankly I consume this too quickly to have ever properly assesed what they put in there buuuttt here’s my guess 😬 - Sweet radish?? 🫜 of some sort - Mushrooms (as I recall @m1tch9i recounting) - Oh, and definitely #tofu 🫛 You’ve seen the photos 📸 This is a #bestpicks for sure! 👌 Please please give this place a shot 🥹 It’s a little out of the way, but this spot for a lovely #veganbrunch before you head to the Cat City Walk Market for your weekly groceries 🛒 is such a routine! I love this #economyrice spot 🥹 The choices are always excellent 👌 Today’s plating is my favourite #charsiew cum #bittergourd with strands of #fakemeat, #blackfungus with #soycurls 👮‍♂️, and interestingly, #longbeans cooked with #frenchfries 😆 What?? Still the best vegetarian #economyrice in Kuching 😋 Super affordable (relative to the price hike around the city) and they have a really decent selection. They’re a bit out of the way but worth the trip down to if you drive 🐌 There’s always #midin too! #bamboo #cangkukmanis #sweetandsour #veganinkuching

Calling this photo #economyrice or #mixedrice is generous considering this is just a serving of #sides for the #laksa & #kuihchap my friends and I were having here for extra sustenance, but this shop (if I’m right in remembering that they’re originally from MJC) has a long history with me! Their food is amazing 😋 Their #tempeh has to be some of the best I’ve ever had rivalling even Indah Cafe’s “Ubilicious Tempeh” 🙌 Their #veganfish and stuffed #tofu too, absolute bangers! We had some greens on the side too but my shot of it would do it no favour 🤭 I can’t do this shop dirty with how perfect they are. This might be my favourite vegetarian restaurant in Kuching?? 😳

I snuck a couple bites of this from @m1tch9i because as keen as I was for it, their #laksa just called to me much more 🫣 Honestly though, good call on her for ordering this! I’ve never had a #kuihchap this good since I stopped regularly committing murder #veganfortheanimals 😗 The #noodles were that fine line between chewy and soggy as I prefer and the #broth was perfectly flavoured! @misskittysfantadisco was actually shook at how accurately the #fakemeat they included replicated the fat / #pig trot 🐖 I didn’t try that cause I find the texture of that a little too weird for me but I’ll take their word for it 😂 I really miss this restaurant. They have such amazing food!

Second time’s the charm 🤭 Or at least that’s my hope for my second time writing this review! This is the second time in the past week that I’ve had the app just swallow my review clean 🧼 Quite like the way I completely obliterated this #laksa 😋 They seem to have relocated from their old spot at MJC to a new spot of much nicer shophouses & with it completely upped their game! EDIT: The old spot is still there but they’re both Hong “something” so maybe they’re related?? ✍️ I’ve been having their #veganlaksa for years, more of them as an omni than as a vegan, but this is the first time I’ve ever had it this good 🤗 I’ve reviewed it before as a #takeout that my brother had bought for me but compared to then the #curry is a lot more #gao 🤤 Now while they still include the same trifecta of #beancurd, #spam / #luncheon, and #taugeh they’ve added some amazing #fakemeat to this mix! It’s amazing 🤩 For RM6 the portion was pretty sizeable too; You’ll just have to remember to #veganize it when ordering because it includes #egg by default. I don’t know if either @m1tch9i or @stevenneoh have finally got to me though but my only gripe with this dish is that I thought it would be #betterwithoutcoriander 🪴

My brother got me a #veganized laksa for lunch today #takeout 🥡 My family used to frequent this shop quite a bit cause I was addicted to their #fakemeat 🤣 You get the same old soy-based ham in this #laksa from waaaayy back then #throwback, some deep-fried tofu, bean curds, and tonnes of taugeh all in a thin but fiery broth without omelette bits if you opt for the only correct variety (read: vegan 🌱). Also @feliciousx get your flexitarian 🤥 ass some un-normal laksa for once 😛 #veganisnotscary #thingsomnivoressay
