This is another dish we got at An Chay, this amazing meatless Vietnamese restaurant in Zurich. The restaurant is very informal and offers a wide variety of vegan dishes from Vietnamese cusine. This dish was 32 chf and was one of the most expensive plates from the menu. When this was served the waiter invited us to create with our hands some rolls with the ingredients. The drumsticks that you see in the picture, which seemed super suspicious to us at the beginning (they looked and tasted like the leg of some animal, even the exterior resembled fried chicken skin 😱) were actually made from yam, tapioca and mushrooms. In the platter we also had a homemade scallion ginger sauce (in which we dipped the rolls), fresh herbs, cucumber, vermicelli rice noodles and of course some lettuce leaves to make the rolls. It was an amazing dish and a very tasty one too, but I have to admit the fake drumsticks freaked me out a little bit 😅
Anyway it was a great experience, I’m always happy to come back here ☺️
