I love cooking with capers, and my favorite dish that features them is seitan piccata!

It feels fancy but isn’t that hard to make, and the ingredients are pretty simple. The capers add nice bursts of brininess and salt to the white wine sauce. I follow the New York Times recipe for seitan piccata and serve it over fluffy mashed potatoes and fresh sautéed spinach. The only thing missing from this picture is the parsley garnish! These Trader Joe’s capers are inexpensive and have lasted me a while. #seitan #capers #traderjoes

What I like the most abt this product, besides its quality and price point, is

the shape of the jar🙏🏼 Unlike most other skinny caper bottles that basically squint “don’t even bother😑”, this one literally smiles “regular spoon welcome🥄🤗” Making it my nonpareil choice☝🏼
The taste is as good as the much more expensive brands, and the ingredients are simple and clean. They add some sharpness and tang to any dish that desires salt and lemon🧂🍋 (isn’t that most of them?), with a fresh breeze from the sea 🐟
I made some VG Caesar dressing with the help of these little gems for my kale salad today. It doesn’t matter if it’s comparable to the traditional dressing, bc it’s gooood😋 And that’s all that matters💚

Capers are a great way to add a good salty, briney flavor to a meal.

I used it for my tofu piccata and it went really well with all of the lemon in that recipe. Those flavors together makes me think I was eating this on coast in Italy. Capers also are great in tapenade recipes. It provides that nice salty flavor and makes anchovies completely unnecessary in the recipe (although I've made good tapenade without capers as well. Anchovies are always unnecessary in a recipe!)
